Randstad is currently recruiting GIS Officers for a local council based in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. This role will commence as an ongoing casual contract; the contract will be viewed as ongoing, however, extensions are dependent on work flow. Your overall purpose as a GIS Officer will be to operate and manage the council's GIS projects for land, property and certificates. You will play a key role liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other databases to support the functions of City with operational and asset data programs.
  • Carry out and coordinate project work as required, including data collection, database development, and map preparation.
  • Coordinate and support GIS capabilities.
  • Assist in the development of support systems to enable the adoption of GIS technology as a decision support tool in public land management.
  • Liaise with staff and other agencies as to provide GIS support as required.
  • Contribute to City Services initiatives and undertake other related tasks at a similar technical level as directed.

Experience with the following will be advantageous:

  • Must hold full Australian work rights
  • Drivers Licence (C-class) is mandatory
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable
  • Experience in the use of ArcGIS, AutoCAD and FME
