“Major Loss” – General Foreman

Established business that specializes in providing emergency building repairs and building rectification services to some of Australia's leading insurance providers.

With offices in Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmania and Sydney they ar the top of their league in regards to their niche field.

About “Major Loss” – General Foreman role

You will be switched on individual very much with a “can do attitude” and thirst for your work, you will be reporting directly to the Major Loss Manager, liaising with Project Manager, Estimators, Restoration staff, Safety Officer and Administration staff.

The key objective of this important role is to manage a project site and as the principal contractor, you will be responsible in ensuring WH&S obligations are adhered to at all times, KPI requirements are met and the jobs are completed within budget.

  • Reporting and engaging, co-ordinating trades during the repair process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders.
  • Co-ordinate access to properties with owners.
  • Communicate and Negotiate trades.
  • Resolve disputes as required.
  • Manage WH& S Matter – legislative and contractual to our company requirements.
  • Strive to achieve completion within the required time frame and within budget.
  • Achieve a high Quality of finish to the building works.
  • Communicate and negotiate with trades
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as directed of Financial Control of sites, including monthly invoicing of Progress Claims, Final Invoices, Reports.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Trade background in building, preferably carpentry or trade related
  • Insurance Industry experience in some capacity desirable but not essential
  • Computer skills with competency in Windows and estimating software is desirable
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Culture of the Company
