The Opportunity
Randstad is partnering with an Australian owned and operated freight forwarding business who offers specialized services. This company is based in Eagle Farm and they are looking for an experienced cartage coordinator to join the team. The ideal candidate will bring onboard previous experience in Logistics, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
About the Role:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the movement of freight from origin to destination using various modes of transportation.
- Liaise with carriers, trucking companies, and third-party logistics providers to secure reliable and cost-effective cartage solutions.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods, optimizing routes and schedules to meet customer expectations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations governing freight transportation, customs clearance, and border crossings.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to provide timely updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service, sales, and warehouse, to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Identify and address any delays, damages, or discrepancies in transit, taking prompt corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
- Proactively anticipate potential issues and implement preventative measures to enhance overall operational efficiency.
About You:
- Experience in Cartage Coordination or Freight Forwarding
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and logistics software
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- High resilience to working under pressure
- Positive approach to the workplace
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
