Your new role The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Group Finance Team supporting the Group Finance Manager to provide expert financial management advice to support senior managers and stakeholders on all aspects relating to the Group. The Financial Analyst will assist with in maintaining relationships with divisional executives and senior managers and will build an intimate understanding of their allocated division’s financial position andresourcing requirementsProvide advice to a wide range of stakeholders including other divisional staff, senior group managers, through the effective analysis of financial information, the interpretation and application of legislation and accounting standards.Undertake day-to-day budget monitoring, ensuring divisions are managing their budget in line with legislation and policy requirements, working with divisions to phase, load and monitor budgets across the year.Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger by performing monthly General Ledger reconciliations, reviewing accounts, transactions, and providing recommendations for process improvement.Assist with the preparation of financial reports and attend to inquiries from stakeholders including departmental management, DTF and other government agencies.Work collaboratively with other Finance staff to resolve group accounting issues and their impact on the Department’s general ledger and financial reports.Participate in the delivery of key projects in Financial Management and Reporting.Practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination so that people can feel safe, valued and able to participate.What you will need to exceedFinancial Planning and Analysis: Reviews, interpret and present financial and non-financial data, forecasting trends and analysing variances to support organisation decision makingCritical thinking and problem solving: Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines.
