A state government department based in Sydney’s western suburbs are looking to engage an experienced Facilities Manager to manage hard service contracts for an initial 3 – 6 month contract with the view to this being an ongoing role. The incumbent will provide maintenance contract management expertise, technical advice and field based support to the asset maintenance team.


  • Manage the maintenance service contracts assigned to you, ensuring the works and services are in compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract
  • Administer the provisions of assigned maintenance service contracts including approval of routine and non routine (breakdown) work schedules and programming, invoices and payments, maintenance management system and monthly meetings
  • Provide technical advice in relation to building infrastructure that includes mechanical, hydraulics, fire, electrical, lifts, escalators and moving walkways to management and the contractors
  • Ensure maintenance services are managed within allocated budget
  • Prepare maintenance and asset service reports, contract management and performance reporting to management on a monthly basis


  • Bachelor degree and/or trade qualifications in a discipline relating to buildings and infrastructure
  • Extensive experience managing maintenance service contracts on the public domain and building infrastructure that includes hard services
  • Sound experience and knowledge of contract documentation and procurement of maintenance services
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
