Executive Director, Offender Development – Department for Correctional Services

Our client, the Department for Correctional Services, is looking for an Executive Director, Offender Development, reporting to the CEO. In this critical and rewarding role as part of a highly regarded leadership team, you will have the opportunity to bring your expertise and knowledge of best practice in prison and community-based offender assessment, to add substantial value across your portfolio.

While forming strong relationships with external stakeholders including the Minister for Correctional Services and judicial officers of the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership, direction and inspiration to your team
  • Developing and implementing key departmental criminal and justice strategies and reforms
  • Building and maintaining effective partnerships as well as managing projects across the organisation
  • Advocacy, public relations and communications on behalf of the Department
  • Providing a professional assessment, sentence planning and case management review service
  • Managing Offender Rehabilitation Programs and Services, Cross Border Program, VTEC-SA, Volunteers Unit and Chaplaincy Services
  • Working at an operational and strategic level simultaneously
  • Contributing to a strong, stable and positive culture.
