The Client

Due to an exciting period of growth, an amazing new opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to be apart of the NBN rollout team.

My client provides telecommunications and ICT services across Australia and New Zealand, focused on design, construction, operations and maintenance for carriers, government, channel partners and enterprise industry segments.

About the role

  • To lead the pursuit of opportunities from the point of qualification through to successful contract award This will require a close working relationship with many stakeholders including Sales and Operations in identifying the explicit needs.
  • To manage the work winning process for opportunities after qualification and approval to pursue has been achieved
  • Ownership of all work winning processes are effectively applied/implemented in accordance with company procedures
  • Establish and own the plan to take the qualified opportunities to detailed client-ready proposals
  • Establish the “opportunity pursuit” team and provide clear guidance on roles and responsibilities for the team.
  • Lead the development of a unique and compelling solution/win strategy to address the customers explicit needs.
  • Develop detailed proposals that clearly and effectively demonstrate the solution to address the customers explicit needs.
  • Lead the gate approval meetings and where appropriate present the opportunity to the relevant approvers.
  • Participate and conduct regular and ad hoc meetings with clients, as required and appropriate.
  • Manage all activities required to secure gate approvals beyond gate 1 including gate 5.
  • Ensure handover meetings are carried out for all successful opportunity pursuits (contracts).
  • Ensure Opportunity reviews are carried out to ensure we take learning for both successful and unsuccessful pursuits.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or Engineering
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present, inform, negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to deal with high pressure environment that is result driven
