job description

A large government organisation is looking for an Environmental Scientist/Planner to work alongside senior staff to deliver high quality outcomes for clients. This position is to assist and carry out a range of environmental and planning assessment services such as provision of planning approval advice, the preparation of environmental impact assessment reports, exempt and complying checklists under the guidance of senior staff.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • A degree in environmental science/planning
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental legislation
  • Experience in environmental impact assessments (EIA) for infrastructure works
  • Experience in planning approval, environmental approvals and preliminary environmental impacts/ risks
  • Preparation of environmental impact assessment documents
  • Preparation of environmental management plans (construction and operations)
  • Review of consultant environmental assessments, including specialist investigations

This position may require you to drive to remote locations which may include over night stays so a valid NSW Driver’s Licence is a must. This is an amazing opportunity to work on exciting environmental projects with the guidance of experienced staff to support you. This is a contract position role and they are looking for someone with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
