Environmental Impact Assessment Officer (APS 6)

An Exciting opportunity to work within a Government Department agency as Environmental Advisor looking to take advantage of a great opportunity.

THE ROLE


o Review complex development proposals and research their environmental impacts in accordance with legislative obligations and in consideration of associated policies


o Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the context and operation of relevant legislation and policy frameworks


o Prepare and review accurate and high quality briefing material to inform supervisors and decision-makers on the environmental impacts of development proposals, and advise on regulatory decisions


o Support stakeholder engagement through a range of written and face-to-face activities


o Undertake miscellaneous activities, including drafting Ministerial correspondence and ad hoc briefing material

ABOUT YOU


o Communication - ability to present complex information in a straightforward manner to different audiences, focusing on key points using unambiguous and persuasive language, in both written and oral form


o Working with People - works collaboratively and cooperatively, establishes and maintains productive working relationships to achieve individual, team and/or organisational objectives


o Problem Solving - applies analysis and reasoning to consider issues and solve problems, generates practical solutions, and seeks innovative solutions
