The position will be accountable and responsible for the governance around the movement of all enterprise applications and changes across all environments from development to production.This role will manage and communicate environment availability and resolve conflicts between competing demands for environments and prioritise work schedules. What you will be doing: Lead all enterprise application releases – variable delivery lifecycles (waterfall, agile etc)Undertake continuous improvement activities within the team to ensure services are delivered more efficientlyEffectively lead, mentor and manage the team, ensuring high standards of customer service, effective delivery of services against agreed key performance indicators, consistent and appropriate use of agreed methodologies and toolsets and that all aspects of human resource management are conducted effectively and in accordance with company policies and procedures.Develop common strategies for release and environment management governance across a large transformation portfolioEstablish effective controls & communication protocols to manage/report release activities, also work with production control to standardise release decision-makingDefine common mechanisms for rollback and standards for capturing release-related performance indicatorsForecast demand for release resources and identify opportunities for greater efficiencyWork with third party providersAbility to work outside of business hours when necessaryProactively identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in a cost-effective manner to solve problems and enhance servicesDisseminate this knowledge to clients, staff of the Section, within the company and with peers from other leading similar business for collaboration and benchmarking purposes/opportunitiesUndertake project management of large and complex information technology projects as requiredPrepare budgets and ensure financial targets are metOther duties as required within the scope of the classification and within the limits of their skill, competence and training What you will need to apply: 5+ years proven experience in environment/release management including service managementStrong technical awareness and background within testing / QA and productionDemonstrated ability to lead and to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff across multiple disciplinesStrong analytical skills, including the ability to distil complex information to fundamental concepts, and to work collaboratively to resolve issues and achieve resultsDemonstrated ability to build strong positive relationships with team members, internal and external contacts and customers encouraging mutual respect, cooperation and collaboration.Knowledge and understanding of equity and diversity principlesWell-developed written and verbal diplomatic communication skillsAbility to implement a continuous improvement regimeInterested?
