The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Work closely with the Implementation Partner, Information Services teams (Architecture, Operations and Integration) and up to 25 subcontracted system vendor partners to plan, manage and execute all of the company’s systems release and environment responsibilities as defined in the contract schedules and program plan.
  • Collaborate and coordinate activities with all impacted projects in the Information Services portfolio of projects, as well as the Managed Service Providers to ensure a holistic approach to change for the Program. The outcome is an optimized release schedule and efficient environment management across development, testing and production deployments.

Establish and manage a comprehensive schedule of the company’s technical environments, allocation and deployment in relation to the fulfilment of the responsibilities as outlined in the Program. This schedule has hard coded contractual dependencies with the master schedule of the implementation partner.

Work with the Program Leads to provide overall management of the scope of technical environments for the program, and manage dependencies between the , vendor and the business technology projects.

In alignment with the business’ Change Management and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, ensure the necessary environments are release managed, available and refreshed as necessary to the program schedule and phases (Development, SIT, UAT, Performance Testing, Conversion, DR and Production).

Assist the Technical project manager with the definition of Scope of Works documentation to support the engagement of ICT vendor partners from development to production implementation.

Pro-actively work with the Program manager to identify, track and mitigate project and release risks and issues through to remediation.

Monitor and ensure availability of environments as per deployment schedule agreed with all impacted stakeholders. Facilitate support for development and test environments to minimize disruption to project delivery, and track issue resolution in partnership with Managed Service Providers and third parties.

Facilitate and manage provision of new environments and decommissioning of unused environment in accordance with contractual agreements.

Develop, review and provide detailed feedback on relevant Infrastructure and Technical Architecture Team deliverables and support the formal review process by consulting with key stakeholders, recording feedback and making updates to deliverable.

Jointly ensure the smooth transition of the solution to the production and support environments with the Program Deployment and Cutover leads and IS Operations.

Assist Technology Leads with the management and resolution of issues within technology scope.

The role requires the following skills and abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of environment management and technical release management principles and practices.
  • Understanding and experience with automated deployment, automated testing and end to end integration testing.
  • Good contemporary knowledge of virtualization, server and database concepts and technologies and networks.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of integration principles, best practice and ESB (JBoss) and API Gateway technologies.
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across programs and competency groups in a high pressure environment.
  • Practical experience in managing technical change including experience with issues management, testing and resolution.
  • Exceptional relationship management, written and verbal communication skills suitable for influencing all levels of the organisation and highly developed skills in negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution.
