We are currently seeking an Enquiries Officer to work for one of our clients within the Federal Government. To be successful for this role, you will have experience working in a regulator’s call centre or enquiries service. Alternatively, you will be a recent Law Degree Graduate who is knowledgeable in complaints, investigations or alternative dispute resolution.

You must be have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency in order to be successful for this role.

The Role:

This role involves supporting a Dispute Resolution Branch with wide administrative duties. Some of the duties for this role will include:

• Provide advice to the public by phone, e-mail or in person on the operation of the Privacy Act 1988 and the Freedom of Information Act 1982, including legislative and jurisdictional issues

  • Making referrals to other government and industry bodies where necessary
  • Drafting correspondence in relation to enquiries, complaints & reviews under general direction
  • Maintain records of enquiries for reporting purposes
  • Ad-hoc administrative assistance to support the team

The Candidate:

You as the candidate will have a background in complaints, investigations or alternative dispute resolution. Experience in a regulator’s call centre/enquiries service or recent graduation with a Law Degree is highly desirable. To be successful for this role, you will possess the following skillset:

• Strong communication skills

  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Privacy and Freedom of Information legislation
  • Ability to communicate with influence
  • Ability to respond appropriately to challenging questions and client behaviours while still providing a high standard of customer service
  • Great team work skills
  • Personal drive and integrity
