About the Opportunity
EL1 Assistant Director Strategy, 12-month contract with a possibility of renewal. This full-time position offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, ensuring a great work-life balance. While the role is based in Richmond or Geelong, some in-office time is required. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.
About the Team
The Strategy Branch provides strategic advice to business areas and the agency senior executive. They help prioritise and make decisions about work to improve the agency’s program and deliver improved outcomes for stakeholders. The branch ensures projects and initiatives align to agencypriorities and we provide insights and solutions through a flexible approach, in partnership with stakeholders.
About the Role
The role focuses on providing strategic insights and solutions to drive organisational success, particularly in complex and cross-functional environments. It requires strong critical and strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on adaptability and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in strategy development, a proven track record of contributing to strategic projects, and the ability to navigate organisational complexity. Emotional intelligence and experience working with diverse stakeholders, including those with disabilities, are also valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and develop structured insights and recommendations for strategic projects.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, including Excel modelling, to support decision-making.
- Create materials for senior stakeholders, including the Minister and Executive Leadership Team, to communicate recommendations and implications.
- Present recommendations and facilitate discussions with Agency stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Develop action plans, author policy papers, and collaborate across business areas to implement solutions and drive Agency-wide priorities.
