This role is within the departments Research and Evaluation Branch and involves coordinating a new function focused on building capability and implementing evidence-based approaches to customer service. This position requires extensive experience in government, expertise in knowledge translation, implementation science, and behavioral insights to support workforce development and education. The responsibilities include designing and leading the development of a practice leadership approach, supporting evidence-based approaches in policy and practice, building relationships across the Agency, and taking on management responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include maintaining project records, preparing internal reports, and promoting the role of the Research and Evaluation Branch. The role requires a proactive approach, with a focus on achieving results beyond what is required. Essential qualifications include government experience, a health-related discipline background, and over three years of experience in designing or delivering adult education. The ideal candidate should have applied experience in healthcare or NGO settings, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to lead high-performance teams. The role operates within established legislative and policy frameworks, requiring awareness of its impact on strategic, political, or operational outcomes for the agency/program.
EL1 Assistant Director Evidence-based Practice
Operating with considerable independence, the role focuses on complex problem-solving within the Research and Evaluation functions. Responsibilities include utilizing expertise in evidence-based practice, collaborating with stakeholders to translate research into actionable outcomes, leading internal capability activities for evidence-informed decision-making, developing resources for communication and support, maintaining project records, and preparing internal reports, including slide-pack summaries for stakeholders.
Qualifications for Evidence-Based Practice involve comparable expertise with over 3 years supporting evidence-based practice in government and academia. The candidate should possess knowledge translation strategies, the ability to develop guidelines for evidence-based practice delivery, and strong skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, project management, presentation, and writing.
APS6 Senior Reasearch Officer
This role reports in to the EL2 Director Evidence for Action. It involves extensive research, stakeholder engagement, and project management, requiring autonomy in interpreting legislation and policy. Responsibilities include providing technical support on complex problems, contributing to strategic planning, program and project management, and supporting the Department's goal of building a world-leading disability scheme.
The Senior Research Officer is expected to demonstrate adaptability, customer loyalty, talent building, planning and organizing, coaching, technical proficiency, relationship management, work standards, and energy. The role encompasses varied working environments, occasional remote work, team collaboration, and emotional resilience in handling complex situations. The Officer manages information technology and security, adhering to pre-engagement checks. Operating within APS Work Level Standards, the role showcases leadership, accountability, diversity in management, independence, stakeholder engagement, and organizational responsibilities regarding risk and health and safety compliance.
