Randstad Education is seeking a diploma qualified lead educator for an exciting permanent full-time position at a childcare centre located southside of Canberra.

About your new centre

Your new position is located at a 70 place early childhood centre which enrolls children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The centre is fully climated controlled with beautiful, spacious indoor and outdoor playground environments.

About your role

As a room leader, you will manage a team of assistants and an 8 place babies room with infants aged 0-2 years. As the centre follows a holistic education philosophy, your approach to education and care willl recognise the connectedness of mind, body and spirit. In this approach, you will be required to document babies physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development through individual development portfolios.

Your responsibilites

  • Supervising and monitoring babies in room
  • Ensure room operates in accordance to centres policy and procedures
  • Mentor assistants in room and students on practical placement by providing verbal and written feedback to aid reflective learning
  • Collaborate with the director through ongoing leadership meetings and work towards shared vision for centre
  • Ensure WHS standards are upheld
  • Develop strong relationships with parents and families at service
  • Use Storypark app to document and communicate important moments and milestones

Your requirements

  • Valid Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • Diploma in Children's Services
  • 2 years experience as a Lead Educator
  • Studying towards a bachelor of early childhood education is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of EYLF and National Quality Framework
  • Experience working in the babies room
