Exceeding community centre looking for a Early Childhood Teacher to join their team in the pre-school room. The centre is a not for profit community based centre with 60 places for children aged between 2-5. Being a community centre they have strong connections with the community and provide a warm and welcoming environment for children and their families.

The centre provides themselves on being an extension of the home environment and recognise the support children and families need in their learning and development.

Centre beliefs:

  • Provide a child guided program based on children’s choices, interests and ideas that develop through play
  • It is important to build strong relationships with families to provide fantastic education
  • Encourage family involvement in the curriculum and connect children’s interests to the centre to create a atmosphere of belonging within the centre
  • Implement the EYLF
  • Embrace diversity and provide experiences for children to allow them to be accepting of differences and abilities

Ideal candidate

  • Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education
  • Be enthusiastic
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have previous experience
  • Be passionate and willing to hit the ground running and get involved in the role
  • Have great time management
  • Work collaboratively in a team

Responsibilities

  • Lead the educational program in the preschool room for 12 months (starting August)
  • Contribute to the educational program in the room and be a strong part of a team
  • Reflect on daily practices to continue to provide a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning programme
  • Provide a safe, secure learning environment
  • Teach through intentional teaching
  • Promote sustainability practices throughout the community
  • Work as part of a strong team
