    At BAE Systems we are all systems go as we continue to drive innovation and seek passionate and talented people to join our business. Applications are now sought from a qualified Dockmaster to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis within our Maritime Sustainment business. Reporting to the Production Operations Lead, you will have the opportunity to join a united and engaging team, and utilise your skills to provide a valuable contribution.

    The Dockmaster is accountable for (but not limited to) the following key responsibilities:

    • Responsible for activities associated with ship movements using BAE Systems and/or third party ship lifts.
    • Liaison with internal stakeholders to manage ship movements within project priorities.
    • Implementing human resource planning for the docking function.
    • Planning, managing and executing the delivery of production outputs to the required standard, as agreed with customers and stakeholders.
    • Planning the most effective use of the ship lift and docking facilities to minimise ship movements in accordance with project requirements and priorities.
    • Compliance with docking and SHE procedures relating to docking facilities and activities.

    Experience required:

    • Docking both Commercial and Naval vessels
    • Docking Cradle design
    • Vessel docking cradle building / verification
    • Wet berth vessel experience
    • AUTOCAD
    • Shiplift Maintenance (Syncrolift and graving dock types)
    • Team Management
    • Contractor Management


    Qualifications required:

    • Frontline Managerial Qualification
    • AUTOCAD
    • Trade Qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)
    • Dockmaster Qualification
    • DNV Hull Qualification
