Our Client is looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team in Vic. Full time preferred, however Part Time Role (4 days per week) may be considered.About the roleYou will manage a caseload of Behaviour Support clients and work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high quality services that address behaviours of concern.The role involves mainly working with adults in community settings (group homes - SIL/ SDA, day programs, nursing homes and homes and places of employment for participants). There is a small number of children that you may also see.The role involves conducting functional behaviour assessments, developing behaviour support plans, assessing restricted practices and implementing safety plan, training families, support workers and others to minimise harm and manage behaviours of concern so that the participant can participate in life to their best.You will write reports, lodge Behaviour Plans with the NDIS and assist providers to monitor and reduce restrictive practices.This role involves regular supervision, assistance to work towards a higher NDIS Behaviour Support Accreditation (dependent on experience), team training, regular team meetings and close work with our Psychology team.Position RequirementsQualifications in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social/ Behavioural Science, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or significant experience as a Support Worker managing behaviours of concern.Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders including individuals, families, support team, Local Area Coordinators, NDIA, the Office of the Public Guardian, government agencies and specialist support services.Excellent verbal communication skills- able to build rapport, conduct interviews, administer questionnaires, negotiate, lead training for small groupsExcellent report writing skillsExcellent time management skillsExcellent computer skills- proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power PointUnrestricted Drivers LicenseAccess to a vehicle to use for work (KMs reimbursed)Have a Working with Children CheckEligible for NDIS Worker Check DesirableAssessed as Core or Proficient (by NDIS Q & S)Previous experience working in behaviour support and/ or working with children/ adults with a disability.Why work for us?Be part of a company that provides allied health assessment and intervention to children and adults with a disability and/ or who have been injured at work, as well as Support Coordination..They are:Client Focused- our clients needs are of the highest priorityQuality- We set high standards, are accountable and continuously improving.Passionate- we love what we do and we help people make a difference!Integrity- We do what we say, we are transparent and take ownership of what we do.Performance- We are results focused through achieving client and company outcomes.Team- We care for our people and invest in their growth and development.
