A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director to join a 90 placed Early Childhood Centre, based in the Inner South. You will lead a team of passionate educators to provide the highest quality care for children and their families. This position ensures the effective leadership and coordination of the early childhood team with responsibility to continually develop and maintain the quality of service provided by the educators and the Centre in a financially sustainable way. This is one of Canberra's best known non-for-profit organisations, who provide a wealth of benefits not only to the local community but to the staff they employ.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Long term planning for the Centre aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Supervising Officer for the Centre.
  • Implementing high quality Early Childhood programs for the Centre according to the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Maintaining networks and links with relevant childcare service providers and industry organizations.

This role would suit someone with experience in a similar sized centre or who currently works in a similar role for a smaller Early Childhood Centre who is now looking for an opportunity to develop their career into a larger institution. This position requires someone with extensive early childhood education experience and excellent communication skills accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of relevant government legislation with respect to children’s services.

This position requires a Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check (WWVP).

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience leading and managing an Early Childhood Education and Care Service
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current approved first aid certificate and CPR
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Highly Desirable) Or Diploma In Children's Services
