There are currently 3 positions available for Directors within Research and Evaluation Services with a Federal Government agency. These are newly created roles which will give the successful applicant an opportunity to build and create their own team and establish how they would like to deliver the new services within the areas of their expertise.

These roles will be an opportunity to take the lead on maximising the impact of Australian research via knowledge translation. It will also provide decision makers with ways to enhance the scheme and improve the sustainability.

Experience within one of the following program areas is essential to being successful in the role:

  • Evidence Synthesis (literature reviews to identify concepts and developing evidence products and services)
  • Knowledge translation (translate research findings into tangible decisions and actions)
  • Evaluation (develop frameworks and plans for programs, qualitative and quantitative data collection via a number of methods and reporting all findings)
  • Mixed methods research ( design projects to address research questions, data collection and analysis and reporting of findings)

Skills and attributes required:

  • Qualifications or demonstrated work experience in the area, could include; post graduate health sciences qualification (public health, community development or related)
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to positive outcomes for NDIS and it’s participants
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Positive attitude to people with disability
  • Strong IT skills
  • People management skills, particularly in leading project teams
  • Able to deliver complex projects on time and to budget

The successful applicants will have a high level of skill and expertise within one the 4 areas of the program – please highlight in your application where your experience lies (Evidence synthesis, Knowledge Translation, Evaluation, Mixed Methods Research or if it is a combination of more than one.) We are looking for candidates with either an academic or professional background in the above, or a combination of the two.
