job description

Randstad is seeking an experienced APS5/6 level digital specialist to join this busy Government department for a period of 12 months. It is likely the role will commence in late December/early January 2021.

Position Summary

The Digital Specialist will develop online and social media strategies and content to feed into the Taskforce’s external communication campaign. The successful candidate will be the central liaison point for managing the service provider developing the website. This role will manage the website and feed social media content into existing social media channels in Australia and overseas.

The Digital Specialist will be able to engage effectively with stakeholders to identify and develop solutions. The ideal candidate will draft content while ensuring compliance with DTA guidelines and relevant governance procedures. The successful candidate will be self-driven and capable of working independently while seeking feedback and support where required.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities

  • Work with subject matter experts to write clear text in plain language
  • Review website content to ensure its accuracy
  • Develop and produce high quality and engaging rich media content which leads to tangible results with respect to reach and engagement.
  • Manage the social campaign calendar and develop social content strategies
  • Design and develop social media content and manage the LinkedIn account

Role Requirements/Qualifications

  • Website publishing experience in GOVCMS
  • Ability to work with HTML markup and its application to web publishing
  • Experience in developing social media content and online experience implementing social media campaigns will be highly regarded.
  • Applicants with video editing, graphic design or other applicable skills are preferred.
  • Applicants with experience in media, marketing or communications or with tertiary qualification in these areas.
  • Demonstrated understanding of writing for online content, audience targeting, usability and accessibility
  • Sound communication and analytical skills

A Baseline security clearance is preferred or must be obtainable.
