DevOps Engineer

3 month initial contract

Sydney CBD

Primary purpose of the role
You will work closely with the service domain to build and manage a robust support team responsible for assigned critical applications across the production and non-production environments. In this role, you will also work closely with our business and technology partner teams and will have an expectation to work closely with Project Managers to help build, administer and support systems as they transition through the development project lifecycles into production.

The DevOps Engineer will deliver IT excellence and create innovative solutions in the Cloud, work with fellow Architects and Engineers to form the best cloud solutions and provide innovative solutions to project teams. You are expected to support AWS deployments, lift and shift migrations and transformation of AWS solutions. You should be able to execute architecture blueprints and bring it to reality with a DevSecOps mindset & culture. You will build and configure build plans, code pipelines and create automated solution frameworks for re-use and furthermore become subject matter experts and evangelize the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to other teams.

Production and Non-Production Environments
● Provision of required infrastructure and application services to support the development of new services.
● Support the efficient delivery of these services by employing industry best practice processes for the automated build and deployment of infrastructure and code.
● Ensure quality assurance of newly developed services, so they comply with companies standards and are delivered using approved processes and tools.
● Evaluate new processes, products and tools to drive continuous improvement, increased reliability and reduced risk.

Key challenges
● Quality assurance of services delivered into the companies environment.
● Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with the many internal and external parties that are involved in the delivery and support of the systems.
● Continuous evaluation of planned changes to minimise risk.
● Managing stakeholder requirements and expectations around the delivery of projects/systems with competing priorities
