    Our client is a leader in warehousing and distribution providing tailored supply chain solutions across Australia.


    About the role:

    The role of the Despatch Clerk will report and provide support to the Warehousing team, site management and operations team, to ensure the efficient movement of shipments, transport bookings and adherence to Chain of Responsibility laws. The role will involve acting as a calm liaison between professional drivers, customers and their dispatch department.

    The role will involve allocating work assignments, monitoring job progress and entering critical data. Despatch clerks manage a high volume of incoming phone calls, these calls are to be answered in a professional and efficient manner, providing timely customer support.

    As part of their role, they will be exposed to a high level of confidentiality, their discretion at all times in accordance with this company's policies, legislative obligations and customer requirements is crucial to their role.

    The Despatch Clerk will provide professional representation of the site through their positive interactions with both internal and external customers. They will also foster strong relationships and facilitate effective transparent communications throughout the site, while continually developing their role and actively participating in setting continuous improvement opportunities to streamline their processes.

    They are responsible for supporting the flow of effective communication between professional drivers and site management.

    Your skills and experience:

    • The ideal candidate will have had 12 - 18 months + experience as a Transport / Despatch Coordinator in a fast paced logistics environment
    • Great with computers and different systems
    • Strong Microsoft Suite skills - in particular Excel
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Results oriented with strong communication skills
    • Solid Administration experience - 1 -2 years experience +

    Day to day task:

    • Driver debriefs (sign offs, fatigue compliance checks)
    • Despatch window (booking trucks in and out)
    • Vehicle compliance checks
    • Other day to day transport operation tasks including support of supply chain processes
    • Booking transport
    • Customer service within logistics
    • Administrative tasks
