Demand Analyst/ Planner

About The Company

About the Role

With an immediate start, you will report to the Demand Manager and work as part of a team of 3 Demand Analysts, focusing on Demand Forecasting, Planning and Analytics for Fast Moving Goods for the Pacific. You duties will include:

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Compile & evaluate information derived from the Marketing and Sales Teams and use assumptions to complete a basic forecast at SKU level, for every product for a rolling 24 month period
  • Work with Sales & Trade Marketing Departments to develop piece forecasts for customer exclusive programs
  • Assist in the liquidation of slow moving and obsolete stocks.
  • Work collaboratively with the commercial team to develop piece forecasts for new Product Launches in a timely manner.
  • Christmas Program Forecasting
  • Manage meetings with the sales and marketing department to gain input into New Product Launch forecasts
  • Involvement in various month end processes
  • Providing sales variance reporting to S&OP meetings
  • Statistical critique of previous forecasts (e.g bias, MAPE)
  • Provision of data to allow volume/value forecasts to be reviewed by Sales Department

The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Demand Planning/ Trade marketing or Business Forecasting role
  • FMCG background an advantage
  • Experience forecasting in a company with a large SKU or component count and working with multi-level Bill of Materials
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel). Excellent electronic Data Management Skills to perform various analysis. Previous experience with JDA, SAP and Microstrategy would be an advantage
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Capability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
