job description

The Role:

  • Responsible for Demand Planning and Forecasting as well as Finished Goods Planning (Supply Planning) for a designated portfolio of finished goods.
  • The Demand Planner leads the S&OP process and obtains forecast from Sales/Channel/Marketing/Key Account Managers to produce a single consensus demand plan for the sales organization in SAP APO-DP.
  • Other responsibilities including product life cycle management (phase in/phase out planning), exception management and master data maintenance.
  • One key output of the role is the generation of accurate demand data required for the efficient execution of the supply planning, purchasing and scheduling activities

The key objectives

  • The achievement of forecast accuracy, customer satisfaction (DRM) and inventory run rate targets. This requires a high level of engagement and collaboration with the Sales/Channel/Marketing/Key Account Managers, and where appropriate directly with customers.
  • The Demand Planner is the “forecast champion” for the organisation, continuously striving to increase the level of understanding of the forecast process and its importance to the business.

Skills Required:

  • Experience and understanding of forecasting methodology,
  • SAP experience
  • Understanding of Product Life Cycle Management and its impact on demand plans;
  • Coordination and consolidation of data input from multiple sources;
  • Ability to chair and facilitate meetings
  • Effective verbal communication and negotiation skills;
  • Customer interaction skills.

  • Knowledge of the market
  • Preferably experience within the lighting industry
