The Opportunity:

  • We have multiple Data Verification Officer vacancies are based just a short 5 minute walk from Central station is Sydney CBD – near Railway Square.
  • The positions are within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) at the Sydney Passport Office.
  • Your role is to review & edit data pulled through data verification software from scanned passport application forms.
  • This is an APS 2 level role paying $30ph working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.



Duties:

  • With 100% accuracy cross-checking data from the passport applications making sure all errors are corrected – data entry.
  • Scanning applications and photographs into the Workflow system
  • Printing, quality assurance and dispatch of documents.
  • General administrative processing activities in accordance with department regulations and guidelines.
  • Ad hoc administration tasks



Criteria:

  • Strong data entry skills: speed of 9000 characters per hour (or more) at 92% accuracy (or more) – testing is required.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • You will be required to have strong attention to detail and meet daily targets (KPI’s) working in a high volume environment.
  • The ability to process, analyse and make decisions promptly and accurately.
  • Ability to remain motivated within a repetitive role



Preferable:

  • Experience using Optical Character Recognition (OPR) or similar program.
  • Previous Federal or State government experience.
