Randstad Data is currently working with a government owned corporation to find a Data Lead to join their team for an 8-month contract, with the possibility to extend past that point. Working in Brisbane’s CBD, this role will provide technical leadership in the Analytics team to support the delivery of a scalable data solution. This role is also responsible for establishing and implementing a data governance framework for the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Document data architecture landscape across the organisation
- Identify gaps in architecture framework and work with Director Analytics to plan on delivering best practices and uplift
- Design a logical proposed data model / data warehouse
- Automate pipelines where required
- Co-design data governance framework, architectural principles and guidelines based on agency’s requirements – fit for size and purpose
- Develop metadata driven ETL framework
- Working in an Azure Synapse Environment
- Identify opportunities of improvement in technical space on data platform
- Assist and support the establishment and delivery of the organisation’s data strategy and work plan.
Necessary Skills:
- Knowledge of statutory insurances schemes, personal injuries insurance and/or the general insurance sector
- Strong track record of delivering timely and meaningful data analysis and insights to a range of audiences in different settings
- Experience working with Databricks
- Experience leading teams on technical fronts and projects using agile methodology
- Experience using statistical programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, and Spark
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques to build predictive models, data analysis, datamarts, data warehousing applications, modern data platforms, cloud, and storage solutions
- Ability to be innovative and identify creative solutions to complex issues in challenging and ambiguous environments
- Proven experience working with data management and governance frameworks
- Experience in building datamarts and data warehouses
