job description

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to join a well established team to help support their Product, Marketing Distribution and Operations teams to make informed decisions through the application of data mining, predictive analytics and machine learning techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the business partners to understand the business objectives and challenges to design analytical solutions to meet business goals
  • You will apply machine learning techniques in solving real life problems, preferably in the business or banking domain
  • Using predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experience, revenue generation
  • Collaboratively work with Marketing and Campaign Analytics, recommend how to most effectively deliver campaigns & measurement through the use of models, controls and test cells
  • Lead stakeholder discussions to understand the situation that enables a problem to be defined with clarity and precision

Experience & needed:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in statistical modelling in a big data environment (Hadoop/Spark/R/Python) in Financial Services/Banking or similar industry
  • Knowledge of a variety of statistical and data mining techniques (regression, statistical tests and proper usage, random forest, clustering, decision tree learning, deep learning text mining etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Ability to present information, analysis and technical constructs to a non-technical audience
  • Be adept at using large data sets and streaming data to find opportunities to help optimise portfolio performance, identify customer needs and test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
  • A proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights and must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
  • Must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analytics methods, using a variety of analytics tools, building and implementing models.
