About the client

Privately owned Australian Freight Forwarding & Customs business with 50+ staff nationally, 25+ in Melbourne with over 30 years in the industry market.

About the role

Manage a 10 person customs and cartage team in a hands-on at time broker position, whilst mentoring and focusing on strategy-based solutions to improve deficiencies and overall profit for both customs and transport teams.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Manage team of 10 brokers and cartage coordinators
  • Customs and transport P&L
  • Payroll
  • Mentor staff
  • Negotiations with suppliers
  • Hands-on lodgements when busy
  • Stakeholder management
  • CI & improvement of processes

Skills & experience

  • Freight Forwarding experience
  • Australian customs broker license
  • Management / Supervisor experience advantageous
  • P&L exposure
  • ICS knowledge
  • I-Stop knowledge
  • EDI/Cargowse/CW1 advantageous
