Your New Company:

The provision of high quality customer service is one of the keys to our clients success and integral to its culture of service excellence. This position has an important role in enhancing council’s public image by professionally and effectively dealing with a range of customer enquiries and requests in accordance with organisational standards.

Your Duties Will Include


• Effectively deal with customer feedback and complaints in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Receive and process payments.
• Enter service requests using the Merit CRM System.
• Provide front desk reception services on a rostered basis.
• Maintain stocks of public handouts and information.
• Prepare correspondence in relation to customer service matters.
• Undertake a range of administration tasks including permit and form processing.
• As part of the Customer Service team contribute to business improvement initiatives and the unit’s business plan

Your Knowledge and Skills

• High level customer service skills.
• Very good knowledge of council products and of the organisation structure.
• Good computer skills with a good working knowledge of relevant computer packages.
• Good working knowledge of and skills in operating information and customer relationship management systems
• Well-developed communication skills to handle customer requests.
• Ability to handle difficult customers.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to gain cooperation from all council staff in addressing customer service issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in a customer service environment.
• Experience in a call centre environment is desirable.
• A relevant customer service qualification is desirable
• Experience with and ability to use relevant computer and information management systems.
• High level communication and customer service skills with ability to handle difficult situations.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to business improvements and team goals.
• Ability to prioritise, manage and complete multiple tasks within set time frames.
• Ability to embrace and demonstrate the Councils Values Framework.
