job description

At the TIO we regularly recruit Customer Service Officers who play an integral part of our business ensuring complaint matters are addressed and responded to promptly.

If you enjoy interacting with people over the phone and online as well as understanding complex complaints and providing a high level of service, we’d like to hear from you!

About us

At the TIO we provide a free and independent dispute resolution service for small business and residential customers who have unresolved complaints about their telephone or internet service in Australia.

Our vision at the TIO is to deliver an exceptional telecommunications dispute resolution service for consumers, service providers and the Australian community.

Customer Service Officer

As a Customer Service Officer, you will answer calls from consumers to understand their complaint and determine if the matter is in our jurisdiction. You'll use your amazing communication skills to relate to consumers and help them understand the TIO process as well as analyse information and liaise with providers and the dispute resolution team.

Your role isn't just about the numbers, it's about providing quality interactions with consumers and helping the TIO resolve matters quickly and efficiently. You'll be there to guide consumers through the process as well as adapting your communication style to accommodate a variety of people effectively. You'll also use your written skills to document and communicate with providers.

About you

To succeed in this environment, you will need a passion for people and previous customer service experience whether that’s face-to-face or over the phone. Coming from a compliance environment in either banking, insurance or utilities would be a strong advantage.

You’ll have experience in managing complex complaints and sometimes difficult conversations as well as resilience and a desire to achieve an outcome.

Why Apply

Apart from learning a lot about the telecommunications industry, you’ll be inducted and receive full training and support from your Team Leader and other team specialists. You'll work with a friendly group of people who enjoy what they do. You’ll benefit from 28 days annual leave, receive a $100 well being allowance, onsite subsidised massage, a convenient location close to Southern Cross Station and an unlimited supply of nearby coffee shops!
