I am partnering with a respected public sector client to help them find an experienced and strategic Corporate Compliance Manager to lead their compliance function. Organisation Overview:
As the Corporate Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of the compliance function within the public sector organisation, ensuring that it operates within the necessary legal frameworks and fosters a culture of compliance throughout. This is a senior leadership role, where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing compliance systems, processes, and training programs that will have a lasting impact on the organisation’s culture and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Corporate Compliance Function: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance management system aligned with ISO37301:2021, ensuring the organisation meets all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the Corporate Compliance Improvement Project: Oversee the development of the organisation's compliance culture, defining future goals and creating Practical plans to achieve them.
- Capability Building: Design and implement compliance training programs that enhance the workforce's understanding, competency, and confidence in meeting compliance standards.
- Oversight and Reporting: Establish compliance reporting frameworks, manage audits, and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and creating an environment focused on continuous learning and improvement.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage the compliance budget and supplier relationships, ensuring effective procurement and vendor performance to support compliance initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Significant experience in a regulatory or compliance environment within the public sector.
- Proven project management skills with a demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise complex tasks.
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with experience engaging senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and navigate ambiguity effectively.
- Strong experience in designing, implementing, and managing compliance systems and frameworks within the public sector.
Desirable:
- Experience leading or managing small teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex compliance matters clearly and effectively.
- Experience in liaising with regulators and government agencies within the public sector.

Special Conditions:
- Flexible working hours, with occasional after-hours work as required.
