Randstad have partnered with a major civil contractor in seeking an extra resource for the commercial team in Sydney CBD, you will be looking after all the contracts and procurement on a major Rail project for the next 12-16 months.

About the Role


The Commercial Contracts Manager will manage the procurement of construction or asset management related contracts for a rail project. The function of the role to ensure commercial terms and contract conditions of construction or asset management contracts between the company and its clients meet market expectations and provide necessary protection to manage the company’s risk. The role requires commercial/contractual expertise to support complex contract negotiation and to provide contractual advice to deliver improvements in performance, cost, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of construction or asset management related contracts.
  • Provide commercial/contractual support to ensure that risks are identified and managed.
  • Support complex contract negotiations with clients, project equity and debt providers.
  • Support the Project Managers with any Supplier/Contractor Claims.
  • Work with the senior management team to develop sustainability strategies and deliver optimal performance in cost, service and quality.
  • You will be required to operate at a senior level and present complex analytical data

Skills & Experience

  • Degree level qualification
  • In depth knowledge of Australian Rail projects
  • Experience negotiating complex technical commercial contracts and high value multi-disciplinary projects
  • Commercial management and administration of rail construction contracts.
  • Experience in having an inclusive approach to procurement strategies to deliver a risk-optimised strategy for projects.
