Position Overview:
A detail-oriented and results-driven Company Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of our wholesale supply business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash-flow management, and the implementation of strategic accounting processes to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective cash-flow management strategies for future orders and purchasing
- Monitor cash positions and forecast future cash requirements
- End of month closing and preparation or financial reports, profit and loss, balance sheet reconciliation
- Maintain Asset register
- Process improvement, reduce EOM time-frames
- Assist with monthly payroll journals and posting
- Manage financial transactions and relationships with overseas suppliers
- Monitor and analyse currency exchange rates and their impact supply costs
- Lead the implementation of new accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency
- Conduct regular cycle counting to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Coordinate and participate in comprehensive stock-takes to ensure inventory accuracy and minimise discrepancies
- Proactively identify cost-saving measures and present recommendations to management
- Management of 2 direct reports
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred, or working towards. Study support is provided
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Team player, positive attitude, ability to build relationships
