Your new Department

This federal government is providing new, national approach to providing support to people with disability and their families and carers. It started its work in 2013 and is currently rolling out in stages across the country.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated people to work to help make a difference in the community and the lives of hundreds and thousands of Australians.

Your new role

As Stakeholder Engagement Officer (APS 5) or Team Leader - (APS 6) you will be responsible for working to ensure the proactive and strategic delivery of the agencys communication strategy through internal & external stakeholder engagement.

About your role

You will:

  • Support the development and delivery of external communications content and activities for State and Territory jurisdictions.
  • Be part of a high-performing team responsible for ensuring people with disability, their families and carers are aware of and understand the the NDIS
  • Support projects and activities across the Branch as required.
  • Provide support on projects and activities across the National Communications and Engagement Branch as required.
  • Possess communications and engagement experience, and possess excellent organisational skills.
  • Have exemplary leadership qualities in connecting with staff, participants, individuals and support providers

Your roles responsibilities:

  • Provide considered advice on communications and engagement activities to drive nationally
  • consistent, locally tailored solutions.
  • Build and manage relationships with National Office work groups, trial sites and regions, and
  • external stakeholders to support effective communications and engagement activities.
  • Provide a single point of contact for the communications and engagement needs of regions.
  • Produce content for a variety of channels including print, digital and event materials.
  • Represent the agency in discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Provide input into the development of regional communication plans including stakeholder
  • mapping, key messages and scheduling activities.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.

You will be successful in this role, if you will tick all the boxes below:

  • Must be an Australia Citizen
  • Experience in a similar communications based role at a senior level
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders
  • Meticulous with detail and ability to multitask
  • Can work well autonomously and part of the team
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience in handling and managing confidential and sensitive information
