Randstad is seeking an experienced Communications and Marketing Officer for an 18 month contract. This role is within a fast paced cultural institution that is based in the Canberra.
This position forms part of a small dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment that is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the effective promotion and positioning of this cultural institution, its partnerships, activities and products.

The Role:

The successful candidate will come with experience and perform the following duties:

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns that include creative campaign development, creative writing, design briefing, print production, media buying, direct marketing and social media
  • Assist in managing and championing the museum’s brand including the development of branding collateral
  • Assist in the implementation of the cultural institution's tourism initiatives
  • Manage the design, writing and production of various promotional items and corporate communications collateral as required
  • Maintain effective relationships with the tourism industry, partners, stakeholders, suppliers and the cultural sector to ensure positive coverage of this cultural institution, its exhibitions and events
  • Assist with the team’s administrative and procurement requirements such as filming requests, processing of invoices, daily budget management, monthly accruals and tender documentation
  • Assist with partnerships and stakeholder engagement and any other duties as required to ensure delivery of team outcomes

What you’ll need to succeed:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated marketing campaigns
  • High-level project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, negotiation and presentation)
  • Highly developed time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Self-motivated with a proven commitment to consistently achieving results
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Experience in leading social media campaigns
  • Willing to undergo and obtain a baseline security clearance
