Our client is a well established and respected Government organisation looking for an experienced and dedicated Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Officer. This role demands an exceptional individual and highly organised professional.

The purpose of this role is to Assist in the delivery of the full range of internal and external strategic communication and stakeholder engagement services within a designated region. This includes providing specialist advice and services across community consultation, communications and engagement strategies, customer information and issues management.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to assist in the effective management of community information
  • Devise, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events, workshops and community consultation activities to maximise community engagement outcomes and feedback including: customer information; community consultation; internal communication; issues management and liaison with the media unit
  • Take a lead role working with team members to develop and maintain an integrated regional communications project milestones list/calendar while managing communications activities to time, cost and budget

You will have:

  • Extensive experience in communications, particularly within a government or services environment, including managing approval processes and delivering work on time and within budget
  • Experience navigating politically sensitive environments, including demonstrated ability to influence and hold high level discussions
  • Demonstrated experience taking a lead role within a team to deliver communications and community engagement on complex projects with competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify, manage and resolve conflict, issues and problems on complex projects
  • Current c drivers licence as travel may be required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a contract role which requires full-time availability – part-time candidates will not be considered.
