Our client is a well established and respected Government organisation looking for an experienced and dedicated Communication & Government Information Officer for a short term contract role. This role demands an exceptional individual and highly organised professional.

The role assists in the delivery of a full range of strategic communication and stakeholder engagement services within a designated region or program. This includes coordinating advice and preparing high quality responses to correspondence, briefings and other government information requests

The successful applicant will:

  • Work in partnership with communication officers and internal stakeholders to proactively identify regional issues and ensure executive and ministerial offices are briefed
  • Prepare advice and responses to correspondence, briefings and government information requests in accordance with policy, procedures and electronic information systems
  • Work in partnership with communication officers to develop and maintain an integrated regional communications project list and calendar to manage communication activities to time, cost and budget
  • Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to assist in the management of community information and engagement needs on the organisations infrastructure projects and programs
  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the provision of timely and accurate advice and facilitate delivery of best practice communication and stakeholder engagement

What are we looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in communications within a government or services environment, including managing approvals processes and delivering work on time and within budget
  • Highly developed written communication skills with experience writing for different materials and audiences, including demonstrated ability to explain complex information in easy to understand language
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including proven ability to maintain business relationships and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven experience working on multiple activities to meet competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability working in a team to deliver communication services across a range of projects

A police check will be highly regarded for this role. Please note that this is a 4 month contract.
