Are you a detail-oriented and driven Commissioning Engineer ready for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a talented professional to join their team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality projects in the energy sector.
Role Overview
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison between the commissioning team and the engineering department, ensuring a seamless transition from design to execution. You will take charge of developing and managing commissioning procedures, quality assurance plans, and testing methodologies, all while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
In this role, you will oversee site-based commissioning, guide complex testing activities, resolve technical queries, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Design Control: Ensure the accurate transition of engineering deliverables to commissioning and manage any design changes during the process.
- Commissioning Plan Development: Lead the creation and implementation of commissioning plans, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and performance testing.
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs): Develop and approve ITPs, ensuring all testing and inspections meet project and industry standards.
- Testing & Validation: Supervise system testing, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems, ensuring all systems meet performance specifications.
- On-Site Supervision: Act as the technical authority on-site, providing support during commissioning activities and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Documentation & Handover: Ensure all quality assurance documentation and testing records are completed and handed over to the client.
What You’ll Need:
- Background in commissioning or engineering roles within an EPC environment.
- Proven experience in developing commissioning procedures, testing methodologies, and quality assurance plans.
- Additional qualifications in Project Management, SCADA systems, or controls engineering (desirable).
- Expertise in high-voltage electrical systems, hazardous areas, and power system engineering, with a strong knowledge of relevant Australian standards (essential).
- Experience in commissioning power generation facilities, including gas and renewable energy systems, with a focus on both synchronous and non-synchronous assets (essential).
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel interstate as needed.
