About the role

In your position, you’ll provide compelling strategic recommendations based on valuable market insights in order to optimise the market presence in Australia. The role plays a key link between the sales and marketing functions to ensure communication, visibility and alignment of business critical category information.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the principal objective of this role is to ensure the business objectives are achieved from a sales and category perspective by providing vital information for category reviews, optimising planograms, providing promotional intelligence and sharing key insights to optimise net trade sales and profit contribution, through the use of scan data software, space management, MS Office, Promax and other relevant systems.

You will develop strong relationships with the buying teams of key accounts, so that range reviews can be competently managed and the client can be considered category thought leaders. You’ll also provide recommendations to accelerate category growth, based on your assessment of market data, shopper insights, and research agencies.

The Person

  • Significant experience in a senior Category Management role
  • Relevant experience associated with FMCG products
  • Preferred experience in grocery trade with customer relationships
  • Tertiary qualifications in a commerce or business related field
  • Strong attention to detail, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic problem solving skills, including analysis and decision making
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office, Scan Data (IRI), Quantium, Space Management and TPM
  • Hands on background in producing clear and concise reports, reviews and analyses across a variety of technical applications
  • Preferred experience in shopper research
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and both written and verbal communication skills.
