This not for profit organisation has new and exciting opportunities for a Review Case Officer to commence as soon as possible, located centrally in Parramatta CBD. You will be responsible for completing application requests from participants seeking support services. You will work within a framework of legislation and closely with various stakeholders and understanding their needs.

This opportunity will allow you to utilise your previous experience in dispute resolution of complaints, and claims assessment, or statutory decision making experience.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • To maximise independence and enhance the quality of life experienced by Independent Living
  • residents by identifying appropriate high quality care and support services and coordinating their
  • availability to residents through referral to internal and external providers.
  • Apply legislation, operational guidelines and internal policy to individual requests
  • Apply principles of administrative law decision making in accordance with both primary and secondary sources, for example under the criteria for reasonable and necessary supports
  • Collect further information by speaking directly with participants and their representatives.
  • Communication with various stakeholders including participants and their representatives)
  • Undertake end to end process of internal review – from contact with participant to drafting decision for delegate approval to implementation of decision by associated delegates
  • Obtain expert assistance and policy directions from internal stakeholders if required
  • Exercise judgement in working with internal staff throughout the process to ensure high quality decisions, assistance and recommendations

Your profile will demonstrate:

  • Experience in case management of people 55 years and over and experience in linking clientswith support services in the community.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills;
  • Making applications for National Disability Insurance Schemes.
  • Making applications to Guardianship Tribunals.
  • Previous experience in making decisions under legislation
  • Previous background in insurance/claims assessment, or dispute resolution of complaints background
