About the role:

This role works closely with Financial Service Providers(FSPs) and Applicants, investigating disputes and find resolutions. This entails employing dispute resolution methods in accordance with the resolution process.

  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of disputes and record issues and outcomes sought
  • Communicate with FSPs and applicants clearly, respectfully and accurately
  • Analyse disputes to determine the key issues and remedies and assess whether sufficient information has been provided to fully understand the dispute.
  • Where a negotiated resolution cannot be achieved, conduct a detailed investigation of the issues raised by the dispute as appropriate, seek and assess all relevant information, reach a view on the merits of the dispute and provide merits views to the relevant parties.
  • Meet performance measures for timely resolution of disputes by any of the methods described above or as agreed with by your manager.

About the candidate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or existing knowledge of financial services and products, or demonstrated ability to gain such knowledge.
  • Ability to make accountable decisions including demonstrated competence in analysing and investigating issues and developing and negotiating solutions.
  • Ability to conduct conciliations and negotiations.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with a demonstrated commitment to effective alternative dispute resolution and the provision of high level service.
  • Experience and interest in law and/or alternative dispute resolution. Experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in the superannuation, banking, investments or insurance sectors.
