Randstad is seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst to come on board and play a key role in a state wide initiative that will improve efficiencies across our public transport infrastructure. The successful incumbent will be required to undertake analysis of current state business processes, system functions, policies and business rules and change impact assessments.

Key accountabilities:

  • Conduct change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes and document business rules, functions and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop business processes, as outlined in the business process scope; investigate business requirements and problems and identify available options for consideration, as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes and operations including conducting process re- engineering with stakeholders, analysing feasibility, documenting proposals and implementing changes.
  • Ensure all business process deliverables are completed to an appropriate standard using agreed methodologies.
  • Engage in the planning, preparation and execution of end-to-end business process testing activities.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops for stakeholders and gather requirements; develop business requirement documents, including business functions, processes and information flows.
  • Provide timely, high level technical advice on all aspects of business process analysis, reporting and related issues.

Key challenges:

  • Managing client expectations to develop innovative and acceptable solutions to meet the continually changing needs of the organisation, while developing and maintaining professional credibility with customer groups.
  • Working on multiple systems projects concurrently dealing with changing priorities, scope and deadlines.
  • Addressing and resolving complex technical issues and problems and recommending appropriate solutions.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in requirements gathering, analysis and evaluation of business needs in a business systems environment.
  • Experience with business analysis and business process design to support business outcomes with strong organisational skills, including project management skills and the capacity to deliver outcomes and meet deadlines.
