job description

The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to lead and actively facilitate process improvement and project management activities focusing primarily on Finance related processes

Key accountabilities you will have -

• Assist the Executive Manager, Process Optimisation with project management responsibilities including process mapping, SIPOC analysis and facilitation of workshops with Subject Matter Experts and key stakeholders.


• Analyse current state processes, recommend future state processes based on best practices and support the execution of such change for Finance process improvement efforts.


• Assess and analyse the impacts of proposed changes on workflow and on staff.


• Review documents, existing procedures and processes, developing recommendations where automation or improved processes can be implemented

• Design and develop new procedures and relevant documentation to support changes.


• Manage the performance of a project by tracking deliverables, timeline performance, project issues and project risks.


• Manage key internal stakeholders to ensure project timeframes are managed effectively.

Experiences, Capabilities & Qualifications

• Experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcomes.

• Extensive experience in process optimisation and change management.

• Knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience in Jira/Confluence (or other similar systems).

• Ability to work iteratively with technical solution designers to develop optimal business solutions.

• Financial Services expertise preferred, ideally within the Insurance sector

• Experience in finance and accounting including financial management/reporting

• Knowledge of finance reporting systems and frameworks

• Understanding of business and financial impacts of operational decisions

• Attention to detail and ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines and perform under pressure


• Tertiary qualifications, i.e. Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• CA/CPA/CIMA qualified
• Relevant professional membership and certifications


Desired technical skills:

• Ability to define and analyse business processes, and develop ‘as-is’ and ‘to be’ process models.
• Interview/workshop facilitation
• SIPOC Analysis
• Critical Path identification
• Cross Functional Thinking
• Experience of change management
• Ability to work iteratively with technical solution designers to develop optimal business solutions.
