Business Accountant

  • Manage accounting for individual entities across Melbourne
  • Local positions, mostly remotely on site.
  • On-going permanent accountant position in NFP sector.

Summary

We are partnering with a large, multi-site not for profit establishment who are currently seeking a number of Accountants to manage the site finances for a portfolio of individual entities.

The organisation has over 13,000 employees working across Victoria and provide services to hundreds of thousands of Victorians. There is long term stability in the organisation and the ability to work remotely across a number of different sites in Greater Melbourne.

As the business accountant your job will be to assist the CEOs of individual entity’s financial responsibilities, their procurement and strategic planning. You will also act as a central liaison point between the shared service centre and the site entity.

You will be a qualified accountant with experience business partnering with senior and junior stakeholders and some experience in an audit environment.

Job Description

Your day to day tasks, across a number of different sites (8-10 entities) will be:

  • Reviewing working capital and cash flow forecasts for the individual entity.
  • Helping prepare the individual entity prepare their annual budget.
  • Forecasting and managing on going cash flow.
  • Monthly variance analysis of budget and recommendation of remedies.
  • Reviewing and signing off on annual financial statements as the primary qualified finance person.
  • Developing a strategic plan relating to buildings and facilities in liaison with the individual entity.
  • Developing and analysing charge rates and structures, advising options to senior management and regional leaders.
  • Board presentations of the entities financial presentation and presenting finance proposals.
  • Overseeing the annual audit and external audit.
  • Developing and monitoring approved capital budgets.
  • Assisting on-site accounts admin staff.
  • Assisting the CEO of the entity in the overall financing and budgeting of staff.
  • Administering relevant federal, state and local government funding requirements.
  • Assisting the entity with supplier contract negotiations.
  • Liaising with the shared service team leaders to manage SLAs and communications with the entities.

Key Stakeholders

  • Your key stakeholders within the roles will be the owners of the individual entities and assisting them improve their position.
  • You will also liaise with regional managers and a state wide shared services team.
