Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

Randstad Healthcare and Support are looking for a passionate Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join one of our clients on permanent bases. Our client is a reputable non for profit organisation providing a wide range of disability services, including NDIS direct services and therapies. The organisation is currently looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to service NDIS clients in the Brisbane region. In this position you will be involved in a broad range of inventions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Providing both assessments and therapeutic interventions to a variety of clients. Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking relevant assessments to identify casual factors of challenging behaviour in order to establish effective strategies and plans that address the behaviour and enhance the quality of life
  • Provide coaching, modelling and support to stakeholders including but not limited to families, support workers and managers to ensure all parties are competent in the implementation of support strategies
  • Implement, capture and analyse data in order to monitor the plan’s effectiveness, review challenging behaviour and makes any changes when required
  • Meet operational, clinical, legal and financial performance targets
  • Attend relevant tribunals in order to meet legislative requirements, incorporate outcomes into plans and present any risk and or/benefits associated with the organisation providing support

About you:

  • A Bachelor’s or Masters in an Allied Health profession (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology) or Social and Behavioural Sciences
  • Experience working with clients in the Disability Sector (Student Placement or Employment History)
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating the provision of support to persons living with a disability and their families and support networks
  • Knowledge of the State Disability Services Act and National Quality and Safeguards Framework as they apply to restrictive practices
  • Demonstrated Experience in utilising positive behaviour support to develop and implement behaviour support plans (desirable)
  • Passionate about working within the disability sector
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
