Randstad Health, Care and Support are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join one of our clients on a permanent basis in Dubbo, NSW. Due to growth within the organisation there are 2 positions available to report into the Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner. Our client is a reputable not-for-profit, community-based charity that provides a wide range of disability services such as social support, living arrangements and disability employment. They currently have an opening within their intensive therapeutic care team that houses young people who have exceptionally complex support needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Foster an environment of support, to ensure individuals feel safe from abuse and neglect
- Develop the independence and pro-social behaviour of children/adolescents
- Undertake or arrange for the assessment of young people living with a disability
- Conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
- Implement and develop behaviour support plans
- Provide clinical advice and support to everyone involved in the implementation of behaviour support plans
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with service providers for ongoing support
ABOUT YOU:
- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- A Bachelor’s or Masters in an Allied Health profession (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Social Work) or Special Education or a minimum of 5 years experience in this role
- Knowledge of the NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care
- Be prepared to effectively manage a busy caseload, with the support of senior staff
- Solid understanding of the impact of trauma, abuse and neglect on children/adolescents
- Must have current drivers license and willingness to drive
- Current NSW WWCC and National Police Check is mandatory
