Randstad, in collaboration with the NSW Electoral Commission, is seeking proficient Batching Officers to join our team for the Local Government Elections 2024.
About the role:
We are currently seeking meticulous and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Batching Officers. Batching Officers will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate check count, sorting, and batching of ballot papers received from the Returning Officer's office. Some lifting will be required in this role.
Responsibilities:
... - Conduct accurate check counts of ballot papers received to verify quantities and identify any discrepancies.
- Sort ballot papers into various categories based on predetermined criteria, distinguishing between those designated for data entry and those for non-data entry (bulk entry).
- Batching of ballot papers for data entry processing, ensuring that batches are accurately compiled and prepared for entry into the election management system.
- Undertake lifting tasks as necessary to handle ballot papers and related materials, following proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in performing counting, sorting, and batching tasks.
- Capacity to ensure precision and consistency in all aspects of work.
- Strong adherence to strict guidelines and procedures, with the ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently.
- Comfortable with undertaking repetitive tasks for extended periods, maintaining focus and efficiency throughout.
Good to know:
- Dates: 14th September - 28th September
- Days: Monday - Saturday
- Hours: Day 1 - 4:30pm - 10:30pm and then shifts change to 8:30am - 5:30pm
- Pay: $35.86/hour + super

Essential Criteria:
- You must be available to work the entire 2 week period without leave due to the critical nature of the role
- You must be an Australian citizen
- To work at an election, you need to be on the electoral roll
