As a Bank Guarantees Manager within the Operations Department, you will be managing a small team processing the day to day preparation and execution of Bank Guarantee and Standby Letter of Credit.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Review of Bank Guarantee / SBL wording before issuance
  • Manage the workflow and execution of operational functions Issuing Domestic and International Bank Guarantees for corporate clients, as well as Standby Letters of Credit
  • Be responsible for managing a small team, providing leadership, development and training
  • Ensuring controls are in place and guarantees adhere to internal branch policies, checklists , Credit Risk Authorisations, and specified client conditions
  • Checking accuracy of issuance fees and commissions, reconciling guarantee commission calculations and adjusting errors.
  • Follow up clients for overdue fees
  • Responding to client (internal & external) queries whilst demonstrating a high level of client service at all times
  • Coordinate with other branches for counter bank guarantee / SBLC related matters
  • Actively become involved in Operational projects, and continuously look for ways to improve operational processes and procedures
  • Prepare and review statistical data to report to Operations Management
  • Filing and Archiving of Documents and Closed Customer Flies
  • Additional duties as specified by your reporting line

Requirements

  • 5+ years' proven knowledge and experience of Bank Guarantee / SBLC documentation processing
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing small operational teams
  • Preference for accreditation in Certificate for specialists in demand guarantees
  • Confident in liaising with Relationship Managers, Analysts, internal/external stakeholders, Legal Counsel, other branches & regional head
  • High understanding of ICC rules (ISP98, URDG758, UCP600) and correct structuring
  • Understanding of Australian regulatory and compliance environments
  • Controls and Operational Risk experience
  • Desirable; knowledge of general banking products & AML.
  • Degree in Banking/Finance
  • Familiar with SWIFT format for guarantees / SBLC issuance
  • Demonstrated experience in the issuance of different types of guarantees / SBLCs
  • Manage bank guarantee / SBLC claim process
