Join one of Australia's largest Universities, based in central Melbourne to help build, develop and roll out their new program in Early Childhood Education. You will be responsible for the design and development of three core programs in Early Childhood Education which have focus across the VET and Higher Education sectors.

About the Role and what you can expect

The Program Director is responsible for the academic leadership and academic delivery of the Early Childhood program within the Education vertical, ensuring academic integrity and quality. This is a national role that will have responsibility across the campuses. The successful candidate will be expected to work strategically with the General Manager, Dean of Education and academic team to develop a suite of new innovative Early Childhood professional courses.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manages the operations and delivery of a program portfolio in partnership with Academic Services Managers, Academic Services Officers (ASO) and Success Coaches

  • Oversight and accountability for all quality measures in the program(s) including retention and attrition, progression and graduation

  • Responsible for the execution of all internal academic processes within the program(s) in partnership with Services Managers

  • Demonstrate excellent teaching and learning capabilities

  • Work collaboratively with success coaches and academic services officers to achieve enrolment and retention targets.

  • Provide leadership and implement strategic academic projects within your program that foster excellence in student satisfaction and pastoral care

  • Lead, direct and develop a high performing academic team whose main priority is teaching and learning excellence partnered with student care

  • Develop a succession pipeline, consisting of a team of Senior Facilitators/lecturers to help coordinate and lead subjects or other academic projects

  • Capacity development of staff to allow the delivery of quality programs with a focus on student progression

  • Support research and industry activities within the program

  • Maintain academic and relevant professional external body/association relationships and accreditation

  • Seek new or manage relationships with external providers or relevant industry organisations

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (PhD or working towards) and relevant Early Childhood industry experience

  • Track record of leadership in tertiary education including contribution to education policy, processes and governance

  • Experience in leading change and innovation within an academic or business environment

  • Demonstrated relationship building skills to enhance the Universities reputation with internal and external stakeholders
